KidZone "Move Up Sunday" is August 18th

August 1, 2024 Jenny Stanley Announcement

KidZone is excited to announce that we will have "Move Up Sunday" on August 18th, just after many of our kids have started back to school.  Most of our classes combine two grades, so only some kids will be changing KidZone classes this year.  Here’s a breakdown of who will be moving up on August 18th:
  • Former preschool kids beginning kindergarten
  • Former 1st graders beginning 2nd grade
  • Former 3rd graders beginning 4th grade
  • Former 5th graders beginning 6th grade
So what does this mean for these groups of kids? On August 18th, Move Up Sunday, the following things will occur:
  • Our new Kindergartners will now join our main worship service to worship with their parents and church family. They will be dismissed during our intermission into our Lower ElementaryZone class (which is K5-1st grade).
  • Our new 2nd Graders will now move into the Middle ElementaryZone class (2nd-3rd grade) and will continue to be dismissed during our intermission.
  • Our new 4th Graders will now move into the Upper ElementaryZone class (4th-5th grade) and will continue to be dismissed during our intermission.
  • Our new 6th graders will now stay in the service with their parents during the sermon, and BONUS! They are also welcome to start attending Good News Youth on Wednesday nights, from 6-8pm, beginning August 21.  Also, for these students, and any other children that stay in the entire service, we have “Sermon Notes for Kids” pages located on the info wall in the main lobby that can help kids stay engaged while listening to the sermon.
The volunteer at the KidZone Check-In Desk can answer any questions you might have about Move Up Sunday, or you can contact Jenny Stanley, Director of Children & Youth.  We are already praying for all our kids and teachers and the amazing things God will do in and through KidZone this new school year!
