So, here the skinny on those two events:
Good Friday will be on March 29 at 6:00pm. It will be similar to years past in that we meet in the evening to sing songs, hear scripture, and partake in the Lord’s Supper. There will be childcare for kids four years old and under. All other ages are welcome to come to the service and sing along.
Easter will be similar to our normal schedule as well – we’ll have two Easter services, at 9:15am and 11:00am.
However, one difference is that for that week only we will be having an extended KidZone. KidZone will take place over the course of the entire service.
For those of you with kids who are all four years old or younger, this isn’t going to be any different than what you usually do. However, for those of you with kids in Kindergarten through fifth grade, this will mean that your kids will begin KidZone twenty minutes earlier for that one Sunday. If you choose to use our KidZone program, you’ll check them in at the beginning of the service and then leave them there the whole time, rather than bringing them in with you for the singing. There will be no intermission or KidZone dismissal during the Easter services.
The KidZone workers will have some extra Easter activities planned for that particular week. And this should help us free up about 100 seats in the auditorium for visitors. This is important. Last year, we had over 1,000 people attend on Easter Sunday and there wasn’t much room for more people. So, this year, we figured we’d rearrange the location of the children for just that one week, so that there are more available chairs in the main room, just in case we need them.
Yes, we know that we may have to move to hosting three services on Sunday mornings at some point. But that requires a lot more volunteers, so we are putting that off for a while.
Thank you for your cooperation in all of this. And feel free to invite a friend to either of these events. After all, we’re making room.
