"Now is the time to join a group." When others who aren't in a group hear this kind of statement, they often respond by asking, “Why?” I’m glad you asked!

First, there is an obvious theme throughout the Bible that pretty much shouts – We need one another because the desire for relationships is deeply rooted in each one of us. One of the ways Good News encourages everyone who regularly attends on Sundays to grow in their relationships with one another is by joining a group.

Second, have you noticed that you aren’t the “complete package” and have gaps? (If you haven’t, you do. Just ask a trusted friend. 😊) In God’s wisdom, He has not given any of us everything we need to make it alone and on our own. Instead, He chose to give us one another, and together we fill in the gaps for each other. In other words, none of us makes up the whole body. We’re just parts, but we are indispensable parts of one another. We need one another.

I was reading the other day in the book of Hebrews when I came across Hebrews 10:24 which says, “And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works.” And I thought, I wonder how many of us at Good News desire to provoke, challenge, or inspire others to live this way …and do I like for others to provoke, challenge, or inspire me to do this? The truth is whether we like it or not, that’s supposed to happen in Christianity and specifically within a local church. And when we live in relationship with other believers, we accept our place in the body by caring for other parts of the body and other parts of the body care for us.
