I would guess that the question that I get asked most often about the new building is, "When do they think it will be finished?" So, I figured I'd answer that in print. The truth is the contractor hasn't given us a guaranteed finish date. There are things like weather conditions that can cause a project to move faster or slower. However, right now, our goal is to have the building finished before Easter 2016. Hopefully we will get a few weeks to work the bugs out of our new building (sound systems, air conditioning, whatever) before our highest attendance Sunday of the year.
Also, the second most often asked question is, "How many people will the building seat?" The official answer is 448. However, I think we are currently fitting more chairs into our current building than it was designed for. So, these are just estimates. Also, the number of chairs a building holds is rarely equal to the number of people in them. We don't take up every single seat. In fact, remember the last time you went to a "sold out" movie? Even then, there were occasionally empty seats that no one sat in (because they were a family or a couple) right? Nonetheless, our best guess is about 450.
In these remaining four months, I would ask you to continue to serve, financially support, and pray for the ministry of Good News Church as we attempt to love God, love each other, and love people who don't know God yet. (And if you can, attend the 8:00 service to make more room in the other two.)
